Kern River Rafting at its BEST Whitewater Tours & Trips

In 1974, Kern River Tours became the first commercial rafting company on the Kern River, and our experience shows in our total operation. Our goal is to provide you with the highest quality, most memorable experience possible. We are permitted to run all commercially run sections of the Kern River and have trips for all experience levels.

Our guides are among the most knowledgeable and friendly in the business, having run many different rivers. Their love of the river and people can be seen from their mastery of the rapids and the delicious meals they prepare. We recruit our guides from a variety of backgrounds and at the peak time of the season employ over 60 of them.

Kern River Tours has two meeting locations. Our main office located in Lake Isabella, was built in 1982 and serves as our reservations, accounting, and Lower Kern guest meeting center. On the Upper Kern we have recently constructed a meeting place for our guests known as the River Place. The River Place is on leased property located next to the river in Frandy Park, where camping and fishing are available.
